OPEN REQUEST SUNDAY: Buddy Guy, "Sweet Home Chicago"

A joint request from the mysterious trio of Pulius Jeppers, Cay Jutler and Fatt Morte.  Says Pulius, "This one's tough to beat.  It's got that swing, and that attitude!  Buddy at his best is incomparable, in my opinion.  Have you ever seen him live?  He's phenomenal."  Adds Morte, "He's a Chicago institution, every bit as much as Harry Caray or the Billy Goat."

"Also," says Cay, "San Diego sucks.  One could totally carve up their secondary.  You know, if one were so inclined."

Here is Buddy Guy, as introduced by Lyle Lovett on Live at the Woodlands, in Houston, ca. 1993.  Enjoy!

Gene Chandler, "Duke of Earl"

From one of the first cassettes I remember buying, Billboard Top Rock 'n' Roll Hits: 1962.  Rest assured, this won't be the last you hear from this (personal) landmark collection.

We'll walk through my Dukedom/

Sonia Dada, "Lover (You Don't Treat Me No Good No More)"

Full disclosure: my uncle was the live sound guy for Sonia Dada for much of its existence.  Also, I once put in a two-day stint as a roadie, driving through the night from Chicago to Des Moines, and back the next day.  Personal biases aside, they were a phenomenal band... especially live.  Enjoy!
